Peek-A-Boo

Hi all, so I know you're thinking yep she started a blog but didn't stick it out and follow through. I guess in a way you would be right but let me explain. See the big issue is my computer died on me in September which oddly enough is a month after my mother died. No I do not talk about it, not only do I not talk about it but I don't even have pictures up. Just not ready to handle it really. I'm genuinely a happy person and I can't really feed into sadness. So I choose to avoid it altogether until I'm ready. Okay so as you can see, I have a lot on my plate. However since September I have been back and forth to what I consider my real home, Atlanta. I'm really missing it there. I love the friends that I consider family there. So trust me when I say I will have a lot more to blog about real soon. I'm ambitious and unfortunately I've put way to much of that in people who don't appreciate it anymore. Not anymore, from here on out its about me and my lil fellas.

So why is this called peek-a-boo, well because I'm just checking in but I'm not ready to be consistent as of yet. I can't wait till I get an actual computer of my own again. Until then I will peek in and out of my blog from time to time. Hang in there with me. ;-)

Much needed break

So I realize that I've been gone but that don't mean I've given up. I will be the first to admit that I have been guilty of starting things and not finishing them. Over time as you age, you start to feel guilty about it and if you don't than you should. I understand in life that you have to experiment to find what's right for you but at some point in your life you need to stick something through rather its for you or not.

So over this past month I've experienced a lot. My life has had a few bumps and bruises as well as some beautiful moments. You have to take it all in. I choose to not go extra personal in my blog but I'm dealing with it. I did learn a few things. Never underestimate the mind for it is very powerful. Also if you don't have friends get some because life is lonely without them. My life has been amazing because of the friends that I have that embrace me and care for me when life throws you curve balls.

This is a short blog today cause I'm just happy to be back blogging. I'm going to gather my thoughts and have many things to share in the near future. There is excitement to come people. In the words of Mary J. "Share My World"

Get Your Stretch On

Its fall and you know what that means....New Fashions!!! I used to not be big on this kinda of stuff but the older I get and come into my woman-hood lol, the more I'm like yes bring it on...

Growing up I love leggings. I mean who don't. They are so comfortable and can be matched with almost anything. Anyone of any size can wear them, its just what they wear with them that becomes the deciding factor of "oh no she didn't." I'm not a skinny chick by no means. I've got thick legs for days but you better believe I will rock a pair or two. Anywho, here is a sample of some leggings this fall.

Just when you thought they were jeans...
This gives it motion w/o doing too much.
You can rock this a cute solid top.
Of course there is some stone washed.
If you like edgy....Ripped
So will you be rocking some leggings and if so which ones...I got my eye on a few ;-)

Afraid of life....

I haven't blogged in quite some time. Its not because I've started something and back slide into giving it up. I enjoy blogging and see it as a good form of release. Often times its hard to get a grip on your thoughts until you see them written down on paper. This blog is my piece of paper.

"Life Is Short"

Sure we hear this all the time and most of us blow it off. When you are growing up it seems like it takes forever to become an adult. However has anyone noticed the moment you become an adult the years start racing past you. One day you are graduating talking about going to college or pursuing some entertainment dream, the next you look up and its your class reunion and you're wondering if anyone else has failed to accomplish all their dreams...smh

The problem is the "real world" is full of responsibilities and limited, restricted work and school schedules. How many people do you know started a job and said it was just temporary. Then temporary turned into 5 years because of a house, car, or just fear of not being able to obtain anything better. Or is that person you? Life is meant to make mistakes, and take risk no matter the circumstance. More importantly make those mistakes while you're young. If you don't live and take chance while you're young you are heading down a lane of would've, should've, could've which is basically bound to end up with a major midlife crisis or overall depression.

There is nothing to fear but fear itself...Live like you will never live again cause guess what...YOU WON'T!!!

Mini Vacay

So I recently took a little 4 day weekend vacay and I spent it with my best friend Derek. I know Detroit don't have the best reputation but it still has much to offer and wonderful things to see. Funny thing is I got caught up and trying to show him the sites of the city and began to get frustrated when I realized how much there was to do here. I haven't even scratched the surface of places but I tried to pick what was convenient for our schedule.

Currently I don't even live in the city but instead Ann Arbor which I truly love so of course we had to spend some time enjoying the sites here and we discovered such nice culture in this town. Then we headed to the GM headquarters which is located in the Renaissance building after stopping off at the infamous John F. King Used Book Store. I spent my Saturday at Cedar Point amusement park. Sunday was a family day and Monday was strictly recovery.

So how was your weekend?

The warm blanket of mediocrity.....

I have a good friend who loathes mediocrity. As a matter of fact I think she's down right terrified of it. Personally I can't blame her. When you grow up in a city or neighborhood where everyone thinks just getting by is just enough in life you might be afraid of it too. However, this isn't about to be a blog post bashing "the little or less fortunate" people. I don't think everyone who is mediocre always wanted to be. At the same rate not everyone is meant to be a star cause somebody has to clean the toilet. Who am I too judge?!! Nobody!!!

First of all there are plenty of people who are perfectly happy with being mediocre because its less responsibility. Then there are those who just want the easy route in life because they are lazy or have lack of patience or both. Of course some people can't help their disabilities rather it be physical or mental. I personally have a slight case of Atychiphobia (fear of failure) which tends to hinder you from wanting to try due to the possibility of falling flat on your face. The catch 22 is, the same reason I'm scared is the very same thing that pushes me past my fear...my kids. Because of my little men, losing a little is still losing too much but at the same time I refuse to live my life not trying because they deserve nothing but the best period. Not to mention I am their mentor and example of life and living. No excuses, just do it!!!

If your not successful what is your mediocre excuse? More importantly, what are you going to do about it?!!!
