Get Your Stretch On

Its fall and you know what that means....New Fashions!!! I used to not be big on this kinda of stuff but the older I get and come into my woman-hood lol, the more I'm like yes bring it on...

Growing up I love leggings. I mean who don't. They are so comfortable and can be matched with almost anything. Anyone of any size can wear them, its just what they wear with them that becomes the deciding factor of "oh no she didn't." I'm not a skinny chick by no means. I've got thick legs for days but you better believe I will rock a pair or two. Anywho, here is a sample of some leggings this fall.

Just when you thought they were jeans...
This gives it motion w/o doing too much.
You can rock this a cute solid top.
Of course there is some stone washed.
If you like edgy....Ripped
So will you be rocking some leggings and if so which ones...I got my eye on a few ;-)

Afraid of life....

I haven't blogged in quite some time. Its not because I've started something and back slide into giving it up. I enjoy blogging and see it as a good form of release. Often times its hard to get a grip on your thoughts until you see them written down on paper. This blog is my piece of paper.

"Life Is Short"

Sure we hear this all the time and most of us blow it off. When you are growing up it seems like it takes forever to become an adult. However has anyone noticed the moment you become an adult the years start racing past you. One day you are graduating talking about going to college or pursuing some entertainment dream, the next you look up and its your class reunion and you're wondering if anyone else has failed to accomplish all their dreams...smh

The problem is the "real world" is full of responsibilities and limited, restricted work and school schedules. How many people do you know started a job and said it was just temporary. Then temporary turned into 5 years because of a house, car, or just fear of not being able to obtain anything better. Or is that person you? Life is meant to make mistakes, and take risk no matter the circumstance. More importantly make those mistakes while you're young. If you don't live and take chance while you're young you are heading down a lane of would've, should've, could've which is basically bound to end up with a major midlife crisis or overall depression.

There is nothing to fear but fear itself...Live like you will never live again cause guess what...YOU WON'T!!!

Mini Vacay

So I recently took a little 4 day weekend vacay and I spent it with my best friend Derek. I know Detroit don't have the best reputation but it still has much to offer and wonderful things to see. Funny thing is I got caught up and trying to show him the sites of the city and began to get frustrated when I realized how much there was to do here. I haven't even scratched the surface of places but I tried to pick what was convenient for our schedule.

Currently I don't even live in the city but instead Ann Arbor which I truly love so of course we had to spend some time enjoying the sites here and we discovered such nice culture in this town. Then we headed to the GM headquarters which is located in the Renaissance building after stopping off at the infamous John F. King Used Book Store. I spent my Saturday at Cedar Point amusement park. Sunday was a family day and Monday was strictly recovery.

So how was your weekend?

The warm blanket of mediocrity.....

I have a good friend who loathes mediocrity. As a matter of fact I think she's down right terrified of it. Personally I can't blame her. When you grow up in a city or neighborhood where everyone thinks just getting by is just enough in life you might be afraid of it too. However, this isn't about to be a blog post bashing "the little or less fortunate" people. I don't think everyone who is mediocre always wanted to be. At the same rate not everyone is meant to be a star cause somebody has to clean the toilet. Who am I too judge?!! Nobody!!!

First of all there are plenty of people who are perfectly happy with being mediocre because its less responsibility. Then there are those who just want the easy route in life because they are lazy or have lack of patience or both. Of course some people can't help their disabilities rather it be physical or mental. I personally have a slight case of Atychiphobia (fear of failure) which tends to hinder you from wanting to try due to the possibility of falling flat on your face. The catch 22 is, the same reason I'm scared is the very same thing that pushes me past my fear...my kids. Because of my little men, losing a little is still losing too much but at the same time I refuse to live my life not trying because they deserve nothing but the best period. Not to mention I am their mentor and example of life and living. No excuses, just do it!!!

If your not successful what is your mediocre excuse? More importantly, what are you going to do about it?!!!

I'm Addicted To Crack!!!

So its been 1 year and about 4 months since my last perm. However, I'm not sure just how much longer I can hold out. I know a lot of us have seen the Chris Rock movie "Good Hair" and all the horrible things that was said about our little chemical friend. So with that I'm about to come at you like one of our everyday herbal friends (weed head) on why its okay for me to use perm. No one gives off a better bullshit debate than a "Herbal Head" *sigh*

On that note we'll start this argument off with "I can stop anytime I want" then follow it with "I just use it for the convenience of work." Next I'm gone compare it to pressing your hair and flat ironing it and say how excessive heat isn't good for  your hair either and for those who grow dreads they have to cut their hair off and start over to change it up. Of course I have to point out how financially its cheaper than wearing wigs and weaves. Last but not least this wouldn't be a foolish argument without throwing in "GOD" so if he didn't want us to have or use perm he wouldn't have let man invent it...Now with that I'm done...LOL

Stop Blaming Monday

Monday for most Americans is the start of the work week which is why it has such a bad reputation. However, just like everything else in life, its all in the matter of how you choose to look at it. Personally I think its totally unfair the way Monday has been judged. I mean is it Monday's fault that you hate your job, absolutely not. Monday should be looked at as an opportunity to go to work starting fresh and revived from the weekend. Monday should be the day you tell yourself, this week is the week I get that promotion, close this deal, complete that project, or make this killer presentation. I mean is it Monday's fault that you have a job and not a career, or that you didn' follow your dreams. NO!!! Monday didn't tell you to get complacent at your job, drop out of school, or stay up partying all night Sunday.

I say lets stop this vicious cycle of hating Monday. Lets teach our children that the start of something is just as important as the finish. We don't want them starting school feeling defeated before the first bell. I say if you can't do what you love than love what you do. Or at the least don't bring me down with your depressing vibes. Quit and get another job and if you can't do that than just put up and shut up. At the end of the day not only are you getting on my nerves but your also driving your own self into a depression with your negative thoughts.

Sign,

A fan and friend of Monday ^_^
